Oooh, Ip Man, I've been wanting to see that myself. Donnie Yen is such an under-rated action star. And weirdly is looking younger than he did 10 years ago. (The blessing of Chinese genetics, or just a very good surgeon?)

It's a good watch. There is also some subtle humour in otherwise very serious subject.

It's not a bad for being a Kung Fu.

This movie was great.

It has got me thinking of some new ideas (for me, at least) for characters and settings, let me tell you.

It seems to have a bit of an association with Gran Torino due to the similarity of the protagonists (i.e. vigilante septagenarians). But, I have to say, I prefer Harry Brown. It has a really gritty approach to it that's a bit of a hallmark with British films; This is England, Lock Stock etc.

Well worth a watch.

I want to see, and would probably comission, a 28mm Harry Brown.

I've heard about this, apparently it was all filmed down the Albany Road Estate in Camberwell so it's a bit of a local epic. 8)

I'm assuming it's a kind of "Get Carter's Pension"  ;)
Well I've lead an evil life, so they say, but I'll outrun the Devil on judgement day.

I liked it. Now and then I need injections of Old Testament vengeance.

Got the original series of Battlestar Galactica for Christmas - as one of my projects for 2011 is the reimagined-BSG.  Having watched all of the new BSG Series, plus the Plan & Razor back to back, several times, it was fun to see the much more cheesy original.

Its not the 35 year old effects that make it dated, but rather the screenplay, and naevity of the characters......at the start Adama comes across as almost a bumbling old man, compared to the the badarse of the new series.

Scarface from 1932. The film is supposed to be loosely based upon the life of Al Capone. Paul Muni is brilliant as Antonio 'Tony' Camonte.

St. Valentine's Day Massacre from 1967. Dramatization of the Chicago mob wars in the 1920's between Al Capone and "Bugs" Moran which culminated in the notorious gangland slaughter on February 14th. A great prohibition era movie.  :)
