My French Napoleonics 28mm
« on: 18 May 2011, 02:45:11 PM »
I thought it was time share with you some pictures of my French Napoleonic troops.
Some of the pictures are rather crappy, sorry for that.

4th Cuirassiers

22nd Dragoons

Dismounted Dragoons

Voltigeurs

Old guard (same unit different formation, thought I should point that out.)

Officer on horse

And the latest painted unit, 2nd Hussars

I use the Black Powder rules when I want to bash my friends British forces.
And in the basement I got to many unpainted and half painted French miniatures…
The miniatures are a mix of Perry miniature and Victrix. I prefer the Victrix as the look so much better and more detailed. Even thou there are more parts to glue I find it still worth it.

VERY ATTRACTIVE! Napoleonic gaming was my last fling at large scale game way back in my misspend youth...every one should misspend their youth; it makes your memories more interesting. That aside, you did a SPLENDID job capturing the flare & elegance of the Beasty. VERY WELL DONE!

I recently did the same thing and I also recommend Victrix. I know that the Perrys are universally beloved, but I find their historicals rather stiff and lacking in character. The Victrix figures have a lot more personality.

Thank you all.

I can only concur of what Heldrak just wrote.

There are a lot of more funny stuff in the Victrix boxes. So if you want to play a skirmish game, just get a Victrix box and you are set for life… (yeah right, that can’t happen in this hobby…)
Why some people seems to love Perrys more I don’t understand.

And as an extra picture I´ll give you a paint in progress picture of the old guards. Hope you can spot the thin haired veteran without his bearskin hat.

I hope that Engel won't mind, here are a few pictures of French "Big Men" that I made for Sharp Practice using the Victrix sprues:

Jebus! Very nice work!

Nice work. I assembled 24 myself, but haven't gotten around to painting them yet.

I finally finished the last touches on the base and got a picture of him. He will act as an artillery officer.

Lots of fine painted figures you have there.
I think plastics have started new life for Napoleonic games and collections.

Your miniatures are full of character, nice conversions and the painting suits them well!

Great stuff
where did you get your dismounted dragoons from?
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.
