My small transportable 45.-GamingBoard
« on: May 27, 2011, 10:08:08 PM »
Okay, perhaps more for a game of broadsword adventure or fantastic worlds... lol

The board measures 60x60cm.
Because I play more often at other peoples homes I had to build myself a transportable gamingboard.
And to minimise carrying terrain around, a few rocks are already fixed to the surface...

The segments...

In the transportbox (box mesures 60x 30x 15).

Still needs a little static grass, paint and flock... :)

I really like it!

Especially that you haven't done it square, and therefor it gives the board a better depth :)

That is an excellent design!

I have to do a board I can ship out to GenCon so I may be looking at yours closely.

I like that a lot, taking the terrain right over the edge of the board and making that edge irregular looks really good!

Would also make it usable as a rocky plateau piece on a larger table, I think?

The fact that it packs down into a much smaller box than a 2'x2' piece would normally take up is also a huge bonus. A 1' wide box will tuck into all sorts of places you'd never fit a 2'x2', when it comes time to transport the thing!

That looks great  :)

I also like that it's not square.

Are you going to be at Gencon Richard?

Going to be there on Friday and Saturday, not as a vendor but as a gamer. But, I plan to do a pick up game of 2nd edition while I am out there.

Brilliant and commendable. When I get back to moderating Workbench I shall see if we can run a competition on this theme. Gaming boards which are practical.

Thanx for your nice comments... ;)

The rock in the center is from ziterdes:

very lightweight, like the whole board so far.
