Im thinking this might be a cool addition for 28mm
http://www.amazon.com/Schleich-30654-Umbrella-Acacia/dp/B000QJ2MKG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1308765291&sr=8-1

Aren't those 1/32 hence extremely large (I believe some 30cm)

Product Dimensions: 6 x 3 x 12 inches  (Can Grow 69 feet in real life)

Im wondering most gaming trees are way under scale anyway like the average 6 inch palm tree next to a 28mm figure is way under scale but we accept it all the same Im thinking one or two on a 4x6 table would be awesome.

Tell us how you made them great palm trees.... :-*
in case it's me you talking to  ...

The tops are just some artificiel leaves, as You may noticed already. The stem is some small branch from a "corksrew willow" (literaly translated from German, not sure if it is just an ornamental plant of some willow subspecies, but I doubt that), wrapped around is some tape used for painting windows (and NOT letting the colour dribble on glass and frame). But not the smooth one, but a roughly textured one.
Mind to wrap it from top to base, not the other was round for having this palm-like structure. I primed it with brown and a lighter brown, then brushed it with - I think BronzedFlesh or something.

I have seen a similar technique in here with just some more or less thick cord and in result a far more distcinct stem-structure. However, I guess the tape will work much quicker - so it depends what is more important - time or speed. Also the tape will propably work just for smaller stems.

Picture?

Actually, having seen the other thread, are these the ones made from palm 'sticks' with the silk fronds on top? I have a few of those and I'm a big fan.

Great links and ideas everyone. My jungle making project is well off the ground now, finding it alot of fun. Should be buying a decent camera over the next couple of weeks, so I'll post some pics of my creations.

No, people don't mind as long as it's relevant to the thread. And you aren't doing it every five minutes  :)

Actually, if you're Barry from Timeline Miniatures then my trees came from you :)
