I've seen this board at Crisis and I think it was one of the best looking present. I really loved the fenced compound with the bunker and I think I'll try and build that one myself. Also quite jealous of the whole paintjob on the shanties...what did you use for colors and weathering? I still have to paint the old shanty town and would love to have it look like the new ones (I was thinking of airbrushing a lot and use AK Interactive's enamel rust streaks and MIG rust pigments).

Thanks! The shanties were mainly painted with a lot of different washes. The base colours were muted down with grey or brown, and then "dirtied" with washes of VMC German Camo Black, VGC Smokey Ink, VMC Dark Sea Blue and various others. The rust was made with VGC Parasite Brown and VGC Smokey Ink. Occasionally, paint was spattered on with a toothbrush (not too visible in the pictures, but gives a great effect). Finally, everything was heavily blacklined to distinguish the indivual plates. The whole process is rather slow, though, as all the washes need their time to dry.

Fly screen...  o_o  o_o Hell, yeah, another fine material that comes relatively cheap!  8)

Please note that they don't play Poker around here, but Mau-Mau. Doesn't keep them from drinking, obviously ;D

Would have thought, they'd be banging 'Skat'?!  lol  ;)

Nah, don't like Skat. Never got the hang of it ::)

But here are two more pictures of the new objective for the game at Horisont. Another scratchbuilding extravaganza by Mrs Zafarelli, mainly built from Christmas decorations and a few resin parts:

It will sit on top of the bunker in the fenced-off area, and can either be used to send a message to ... someone, or simply blown to pieces. The other party has to avert this, of course. Simple enough :D

Thsi is a fantastic build!  :-*  :-*

The perimeter fence built by Mrs Zafarelli is an effect I'm aiming to achieve. You say ABS profiles for the curved posts, where can I get hold of some of those?
Don't!

Bloody marvelous !
I have to say though, I don't recognize any Xmas decoration on that build.

Good question - I tried googling and found a lot of profiles, but not any resembling those. Did they come with the kink (I suspect as much), or is that a hot-water conversion?

I imagine they're T-beams bent to shape.

Yes, but you need to cut out a triangle for the bend. I'll post a picture later on.

Here they are...

First the bare construction. As said, a triangle was cut out of the post at roughly 3/4 height, then the piece was bent. No hot water or any other fancy tricks were used, simple brute force is enough (ah well, more delicate pressure  than brute force ;)). Finally, the bend was secured with a drop of superglue. The holes will take the steel wire.

And a picture of the whole thing, complete with steel wire and glass beads for isolators. The mesh is simply glued to the back, the sign is a printout mounted on .5 mm polystyrene sheet, attached with a grey variant of bluetack for easy removal.
