Here's some more Scrap Yard terran. More than head-high, the new scrap walls will provide full cover for miniatures hiding behind them.

These are also part of a new set, the Salvager Outpost:

I hope to finish the basic construction of the new gaming board next week, so expect more pictures soon  ;D :D

:-* looking good. There is lots of detail in the scrap and trash, which makes a very professional finish. Nicely done, i'd have gotten bored sculpting just for a pile of trash ;)

What's the technique for making the scrap building?

Do you start with balsa structure then layer corrugated card board?

Well, most of the items are available individually from my shop, so "sculpting just for a pile of trash" is not technically correct ;)

The scrap buildings are also available from my shop. The masters were made using a thin piece of sheet plastic, layered with corrugated sheet lead. Very nice to work with, you can get convincingly battered metal with it.

:o lead sheeting, wow. Very nice, and very tidy execution, lovely attention to detail.

I'd buy it. But have limited funds, so scratchbuild from left over bits and bobs.

Made some more progress on the actual third board segment this week. The street is almost ready, done in the same way as the street on the previous two boards. I have also started on some completely new stuff, not all of which is ready to be shown yet  8)

As the board won't be as high as the other two, a bridge will be needed to continue the street. I wanted the bridge piers to look like cast concrete, so I made a mold out of balsa wood with inscribed wood texture, which was then filled with plaster.

After demolding, the plaster cast had the negative wood texture seen on in-situ concrete structures. I'm actually quite fond of the effect. It also screams for graffitis :)

Detail shot of the texture:

Top and bottem need some sanding, of course. If there is sufficient interest, I'll make this available from Pardulon Models.

I have also started building a new satellite dish. The ribs were milled from polystyrene, the rest is filled in with thin polystyrene sheet. Needs a bit of work still, but once finished, it will also be made into a kit available from my shop.

And I'm planning an entire range of new buildings, but these haven't evolved enough to be shown.

C&C welcome, as always  8)

Made some progress on the radar dish. The dish itself is more or less complete, as is the casing for all the technical stuff with the attached counterweights. The tower is still very much work in progress, though, and the hydraulic hinge is completely missing.

And some work on the third segment, with the completed street, two bridge towers and base colours painted on. Now the challenge will be to match the colour scheme of the existing boards... wish I had taken notes now what paints I used.

What a beauty. Your skills with plastic is astounding, the board will look fantastic. Can we see a whole board shot please?

Will you be constructing the bridge span out of the plasticcard/styrene rod?

Cheers
Matt

Very nice. That radar dish is immense. Can't wait to see the bridge finished.

Also,
Damn you! It's 3:30am, I'm in bed and now seeing this thread I really want to get up, go downstairs and play Borderlands.  lol
