Are you using a Finecast Commissar or a metal one? The squad looks great, and it reminds me of some Catachans on another forum I'm part of.

Did the good lady wife forget the pills again????!!!

Finecast one.  And thanks.  I have posted these on a few forums, lib online, warseer and miniwargaming any of those?

Wanted a day off from painting intricate bits and bobs so made a start on building the display base.

the statue is going to be pretty much engulfed in jungle and covered in vines.  But i came across a master stroke for making the statue look like actual stone, before undercoating it I took some Polycell Multipurpose Polyfilla and watered it down and then painted the entire thing with the mix it dries very quickly and leaves a wonderful rough texture to the model, guess this will be of great use to any one trying to do Khemri terrain.

Thanks pal.  Very thinned down grey, black, brown depending on what colour I want with a small amount of the skin tone mixed in and then very very carefully stippled on with a fine detail brush.

Little more done on the naziman, although the metal hasn't photographed that well it is blended from mithril silver down to metallic black on the sharp edge of the blade and in the opposite way on the main part of the blade, it definately needs to be seen with the naked eye, no matter how many times I photographed it from different angles it didn't photograph right, so you will have to take my word it is

.....it did however photograph correctly on the rear view go figure, but if you look at that picture that is how the front actually looks.....most bizzare.

And i still contest that he's 54mm....

Right I finished all the little bits on the commissar up to a point of doing his camo cloak

but before I go ahead and paint his cloak in camo I wanted to try and sort out the Vietnam Golden Tiger Stripe Camo and felt a mix of a test model and the sniper would suffice as the sniper is going to be covered in a ghillie suit if wouldn't be the end of the world if I made a pigs ear of it.

So first off I painted my poor tau Tarquin's (my guinee pig) head with the bases scheme to get the pattern right

I was happy with that and so was a mate so decided to commit it to the sniper in the following stages

Think it works.

It does look like the camo it is supposed to be anyway.

It does work wonderfully well dear boy...
The one thing it also does, is to highlight just how large that gentlemans weapon actually is!

Scale wise...

What is it with GW these days...

If that was real steel, it would be the size of a small artilery peice?

Wow! This is an amazing thread! Stunning and smooth painting! I absolutely love the dramatic highlights on the skin and it suits the minis down to the ground!  :-* my absolute favourite is the breast plate! Fantastic highlighting!

Ps: sorry, I've gone a bit overboard with the exclamation marks. :)
