Sorry for the long delay on this, what can i say life has been busy, too much stuff and not enough Dee to go around :(

little extra work done on the officer, I am considering whether to do the pattern I sort of like it as is, stitching makes it look more interesting without making the whole thing too hectic.

added some stripes on the grenades to add a little more interest

And the medic is done apart from the handle on the saw.

On to the Radio Guy.......

Is that stitching a completely painted effect, or did you add the stitches in green stuff (or some other modelling medium) and then paint them?  Either way, really nice.

Ha!
I must say that the stitching does the trick very well, without being too... girly?  ( in a homespun crafts way )

pretty damn good for a simple painted effect... simple for you anyway...
But please try and hurry up with the radio guy and get onto the trees and leaves and plants and water and mud and statue!

love it, as always, but IMHO the mimetics are a bit too bright: i expect some weathering and aging after the completion of the piece, am i right? ;)

cheers

Right I think it was on this forum or possibly not but I am sure someone asked me for a tutorial on doing the camo.....

Have just finished the commissar's "pimp" cape in camo so I thought I would do the tutorial on that.

1.  Wet blend from the green (I used a mix of black ink, vallejo heavy grey and vallejo dead flesh for this green)

2. Then paint the brown patterns using either beastial brown or scorched brown and then wet blend them (I used scorched brown, beastial brown and leather brown)

3. Edge the brown patterns start with 50/50 - leather brown/bleached bone mix and then highlight with pure bleached bone followed by 50/50 bleached bone/shull white mix

4. Do excatly the same process with the black as you did the brown, except just wet blend black to 50/50 black/codex grey and then again edge the patterns.

Right apart from weathering on their clothes they are all done......AT BLOODY LAST!!!

Now on to the base!

Now on to the base!

If the quality of your bases are going to be of the same high standard as your painting, we're going to be in for a treat  ;D

Man, YOU'RE MY HERO.

Thanks for sharing your excellent PJs, and explaining how you did it.

Now I just need to be as talented as you are, and that will take like 200 years.  ;)

Best wishes.
I know you're too old to play with toy soldiers. So give them to me... NOW!

Well worth the wait!
But I cant help myself.....

is it just me or does the Commissar bare a striking resemblence to Lady P's 'Parker'? Seriously, look at the face?
