large scale (50-54mm) mini games?

Hello all, Out of many interests, I've been looking at some larger scale miini games.  GW's Inquisitor and the new SMOG steam punk game are out there.  I was hoping to borrow from LAF's experience and maybe people could point me to some more?

I don't Know any other rules especially for 54 mm, but there are a lot of Rules you can easily adapt to this scale.

Agreed, just a quick tinker with the move and weapon ranges should see you right with most rules

Yes, surely, we can adapt.  I was thinking more along the lines of full game sets though, rules+minis, like Inquisitor & SMOG.  thanks.

I've not seen the All the Kings Men figures in the flesh, but I am becoming addicted to Irregular's "Deutsche Homage" range.

ooohhh.  thanks!  I'm very interested in FIW.  The AWI stuff would work fine.

I know of only one guy in my area that collects, paints, and games with 54mm. He has collections for ACW, WW2, ancients, and I'm not sure what else. He used to present spectacular convention games.  His Greeks and Persians looked fantastic, and so did his WW2 figures. Not sure what rules he used.  His WW2 stuff was used for street fighting.  I'm sure western gunfighting would be a good subject for 54mm.

I've got to agree with that - however with limited space I'm going down the Irregular Minis 40-45mm route; the figures use the same bases as my 28s and the old school rules by Grant, Young & Featherstone work without any mods - best of both worlds.

There was an article in a very old Wargames Illustrated where a guy described how he was gaming with 54mm Historex figures - he could only get a game when he packed the wife & kids off on holiday!

Flockalicious - if you're into FIW then you should check out the Fort Willian Henry model in this month's "Toy Soldier & Model Figure" magazine. It's 54mm and from Barzos Playsets I think, It's about 4' across and does look good.

This guy does a some large ranges of Napoleonics, FIW, AWI, & 1812 period figures in 54mm.  They are almost all metal as well.
