Hi Mason,

I know the feeling. Sometimes I don't feel like spending time on the hobby. This usually takes a few weeks every year. The feeling passes and I always starts with something small to paint or finish a miniature that is almost finished. Just to give me the good feeling of finishing something. I must admit that after a few weeks of not spending time on the hobby it is mostly my wife who urges me to spend some time again on painting... :D

Remember it is a hobby not a job...

You could always start a new project like say.... OLD WEST  lol

Regards,
Za

With moi lay offs rarely happen; &, when they do, it's more a matter of not being able to come up with a painting scheme...that's normally a consequence of finishing a terrain piece then going on to some minis or the other way around. My perennial enthusiasm, backed up by the lack of a social life, carries me through.

I've found the opposite.  Last year was exceptionally bad for painting, with almost no miniatures completed.  I did build and paint some scenery items though.  So far this year I have been finishing off stuff that has been hanging around the painting desk for far too long (last year and older).  I've been rather pleased with the results so far which has got me more in the mood for painting than I was for the whole of last year.
Now whether that continues.....  ::)

I'm not really painting anything since Christmas. Mainly because Christmas was so busy I got out of my new routine of painting a little bit every day.

Been reading rulebooks tho. RSBS gladiators, supersystems 3rd ed and LOTOW. And I have been prepping minis.

.....the good news (for me) is that now I have 2 weeks AL, I've set myself a goal of making a small no fuss arena to play RSBS on and to paint a handful of gladiators.

Thanks for the replies and encouragement, chaps!
 :)

Seems that it is not only me, there are a few more on a 'breather'.

You could always start a new project like say.... OLD WEST  lol

You can pack that in right now, ZZ!
There is the intent to go to the Old West at some point, but there is Apocalypse 1929, VSF, Fantasy Undead, Star Wars and more Strange Aeons Lurkers and Mordheim Scenery to come first.....will I even make it through that lot?

It sounds like we both have the same Syndrome, maxxev... :'(

Glad to hear it, mate.
Your project is something that I hope never ends.

 lol lol lol
Thanks, Adam.
That did give me a chuckle.

I, for one, am seriously glad of that, Overlord.
And I hope it long continues as your projects are always great to follow and seriously inspiring.
In fact, it was your 'Geezers' project that made me join up in the first place!
 :D

...And I can drag you round for some Apocalyptic playtesting!
 ;)

Yay! Look forward to more buildings,et cetera :)

There will be a couple of buildings added to Krappefortt this year, Mr Wolf.
Even if it is only to get me 'kickstarted' and to provide a break in painting zombies.

(I will send you a PM later, mate  ;))

I know the feeling. But it's a bit opposite for me. After Christmas I realise that I have to finish a lot of stuff that I started. So on the painting table there's:
Half a blood bowl team (the rest is painted)
Post-Archipelago stuff (well, a lot of stuff actually)
My North pacific board (Damn!)

And I believe that the order I've posted it is mostly how I prioritize it (damn BB-league with stupid rules about not being able to use new skills while the model is unpainted >:()

I found myself in a loop with a larger then life lead pile and a growing number of unfinished terrain projects. One day my wife recommended I get a whiteboard and list off a plan of attack. I thought the idea rather silly until I realized that I often make to do lists for my work and company. With that in mind I set up a whiteboard and wrote as many projects as I could think of including some basic steps to them. Now when I am in the mood to hobby I take a look at the board grab a project that is listed and go. IT WORKS!! I have gotten more projects done the past month then I have in a long time.

Try it.

Regarding that idea of a 'whiteboard, Ninja: My Better Half suggested something similar a couple of years ago (just before I started posting on here, in fact,,,,) and it WORKS!

I did not use a whiteboard, just kept a notebook on me for every crazy idea that I had Mordheim-wise.
I would just scribble them down and then go through them once a week or so, discarding the damn lunatic ideas and then placing the rest in an order of usefulness and plausablity.
I then tick them off when they are done, and this way I managed to start finishing things, as opposed to starting loads and finishing none.

Oooooh. I like that idea Ninja.

It does work, I tell ya.
I will show you the 'Krappefortt Ideas Book' when you are next around.
 ;)
