Standard Miniatures "Wild Man with Warts"...
« on: June 28, 2011, 08:51:29 PM »
Back in january, I posted this pic and asked for an ID on the mini. It's the first I ever bought (sometime in the mid 80s) and it seems it's an old Standard Miniatures fig currently on sale from Magister Militum (Wild Man with Warts)

So... half a year later I've finally finished it and I suppose the old turd has been polished up pretty nicely. Sorry about the shiney photo, but it's not varnished yet so washes etc give a nice shine.  ::)

Looks more like a plague of boils.
Would be handy as a figure to avoid in a skirmish game - some kind of plague carrier

I'm thinking about using him as a giant halfling mutant on a sidequest in the Stillburg campaign. =)

Regarding fleeing, that's what people tend to do when they come up against him:

What a lovely mini, I agree, he'd make a great skirmish scenario character to avoid!

It's posted on my blog, I'm holding off posting it here until I've done the full set. ;)

Very cool minis & DONE TO PERFECTION! I checked out the Halfling on your blog...he looks braver without the Warty Fellow behind him.

you definately breathed life back into that old figure.  The boils actually look painful.

I've just bought that "set" too to paint. Don't think it'll turn out as nice as yours though  ;)
