Slop bucket and straw, courtesy of an old toothbrush and a nice set of 3D printed market goods from Etsy. Pics of the set on the blog…

Ooh the weathering looks perfect in the corners of the wall, and the hay looks perfect too, very lived in.  8)

Cheers

that (and the broken plaster) is a detail on the kit... 4ground really did nice stuff, such a pity they're in the wind now...

Wonderful details. How are you going to paint the roof: tiles? slate? shakes?

Oh, they’ve gone have they? Never having been a fan of MDF buildings, I haven’t really kept track of who’s up and who’s down. 4ground were one of the originals weren’t they? I wonder why they didn’t last.

I have to say, obviously, that although I’m cold on MDF in general, when you take and use it as a base for excellent titivation, as you have done here, adding a lot of 3D-ness and extra detail, it can work very well. Really like where this build is going :)

always pimp your mdf... the issue tends to be that everything is cut from the same thickness, there' not much variety, even those companies that do frames that stand proud (Blotz comes to mind), it's the same thickness, it's too regular. Although these were built by workmen who would be proud of their craft, it was still manmade without machinery. It needs irregularities to look right - in my mind anyway.

aw shucks... I'm certainly not aiming for that, I like detail, but you need to leave space for minis... the market space will be empty and I'll do some loose tables and stuff, the main hall on the first floor is the tricky one to tart up... I'm thinking portraits...
