Old Glory WWI
« on: November 02, 2007, 11:30:10 PM »
Hey I was on the Old Glory site looking at both their WWI and WWII figures and I was thinking I just can't beat those prices for large forces but then I saw that they listed the WWI as 25mm and the WWII as 28mm.  Can anyone tell me how these guys scale next to Other lines.  I'm mostly concerned with the WWI troops and I hope they are larger than they say they are.  Anyone have any exeperience with them?

One of Old Glory's better sculpted lines and they fit well in the larger 28mm area.  I like them alot.

The OG figures are noticeably smaller than the newer lines.  They'd probably line up nicely with Foundry, but they look like shrimps next to Renegade or Copplestone.

Which is a shame, really, as they have a fully developed line including such rarities as Serbians and Italians, plus vehicles, and specialties like signallers, sentries, stretcher bearers and the like.  I particularly like the listening posts, which were a very important part of trench warfare but tend to be overlooked in other companies' lines.

However, this is just my opinion.  You could try buying just one pack, and compare for yourself!  Maybe something unique like the doctor and nurses, which can be used inmany other games if they prove to be unsuitable for your current plans.

I would go with what Will said. The specialists are what you need to fleshout say Brigade Games Western Front range.

I've gamed with Mike Broadbent with his OG Western Front Germans and British with my Germans and French and they are a tad smaller, but okay overall. Other comapnies are either taller, have more or less girth or are slightly smaller. Agian it also depends on which front you are gaming. The BG Britsh fit in with GW British quite well, but not with OG British Western Front. I'm not sure with the Renegade British Late Western front.

I know Lon at Brigade Games has alot more planned for release and I'm sure it will be worth the wait.

Hope this has assisted in some way.
Best wishes,
Helen
