Old Glory PBR
« on: 23 April 2015, 03:02:24 AM »
I have been looking on the web for View Nam PBRs.
Other than Old Glory, no other company makes one.
Am I correct able that?
If I am correct, has any one purchased one?
Any one have any photos of it?
The one photo on OG's site is so small, it a joke.
Any comments, and thanks.

IIRC, both Peter Pig and The Scene do them in the UK.

I looked into this as well. Have not bought one yet. ITs 25mm scale n come from states. West wind in uk told me about them at salute last year. May get one lazer cut as it does not look good for placing 28mm figures in it.

I've seen the Revell 1/48 swift Boat in a branch of The Works, the end-of-line book shop. Can't remember the exact price but definately cheaper than usual.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
Until I see an OG boat live, or some very good photos, I think I will pass.
As for the Swift boats, I have one and am getting ready to water line it.
Also the Lindburg RAG boats will work very well.
I have two, they are 1/48.

I have the OG one. It's ok. Nothing special. Good mainly because it's the least amount of work

james,
If you are looking for a STAB boat take a look at Barrage Miniatures.
They make one, along with some other cool boats.
Been thinking about asking them if they plan to make a PBR.

I'm thinking of getting the Revell Swift Boat, what figures do people use to crew your boats ? Does anybody produce 1/56 - 1/48 scale Navy crew figures ?
Marine0846, those look like nice models from barrageminiatures I could be tempted :)

Regards

I have been looking for some crewman myself.
Company B has some WWII Navy half figures.
They are not perfect, but I think they will work for guys in turrets.
Maybe some artillery men could work.
The RAG boat comes with 4 figures.
Three of the guys are Viets. and fit in pretty well.
