A Viking House
« on: 05 August 2011, 09:12:06 AM »
Inspired by Tas I have made my first Viking House.  Amazing what you can do with foam board, fur, and a hot glue gun!

Rohirrim will double as Anglo-Saxon foes for my Vikings.

Hi  Kurgan,
Saw your pictures of your viking house. Good job.
Have you made any more? If so do you plan to post them?

Those aren't vikings! They are the men of Rohan!  ;D

No really great house, love the roofing!

The Rohan men from the film are closely based on Dark Age Saxons (and there was little difference between Vikings and Saxons at the time of Alfred the Great and later), so they are quite passable as Dark Age warriors.

Is the thatch teddy bear fur?

I have been painting real Vikings (not merely Rohirrim!), so no time to make another hut.  I can certainly post a "how to" when I build another house.  The only products were cardboard, foam board, teddybear fur and a hot glue gun.  Unfortunately, in New Zealand we don't have the core foam eveyone else seems to use for making buildings.
