Farm Shed
« on: August 22, 2011, 11:48:16 AM »
I've posted a few photos of the shed on the Future wars site but I'd like to post a few WIP shots on here. The photos may be a bit large I'm sorry for that but trying to teach me to resize them would be like teaching a dog to fly an FA18 jet fighter.

I wanted to have a mezzanine floor to put hay bales and such on. So I made the lower section first:

With a couple of Spinespur minis for scale.

Then I clad it, with corrugated paper. It had a backing on one side of it which was bothersome to remove.

Almost a barn...  :)

Nice work - at first glance I thought 'what scale', because it looked huge.

What did you use for the windows? I've found that if I cannot find some 'glass', I can just run a sleve thhrough the laminator, then I have plenty  lol

I think I found corrugated card without backing in a craft store - I have been stocking up on materials for a shanty town for some Post Apoc.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

It was my first large project and I was pretty happy with the way it turned out. I really wanted to build it the way it would be built in real life. It is currently WIP as I have a few things I would like to do with it like construct a ladder to the mezzanine level and hang some farm implements from the walls. The things that I am unhappy about are the buildings not square so the roof doesn't fit snuggly enough and the windows should be higher up the walls. I am currently planning a farmhouse so I will be posting some photos of that as well.

On another note I was wondering if some of our American friends could link me to some photos of the internal structure of the quintessencial American barn?

Cheers,

Occa.

Thanks, I wanted this one to look like an Aussie shed. I used the lids from Chinese food containers for the windows. It's for 28mm gaming.
