Objecting to a PM is fine. Hijacking Schweizer's River Packet thread and turning it into a slanging match by quoting said PM here is not fine.

PM me or the Prof if something like this upsets you by all means, but please don't drag your private argument all over somebody else's thread.

Thanks so much, everybody!  As for whether I've done steam models before, I have not.  I've been trying to figure out how steam boilers and engines work for a non-model related work project, and it got me itching to use the info in a model.  There are still a few things with the wheel part especially that wouldn't, as far as I can tell, technically work; I still don't understand the hydraulic bits.  But I think it works for this.

I was trying to figure out what would go in the bridge, and from looking at movies and a few photos, it seems like most didn't have much more than a wheel.  Any suggestions for other tidbits of import?  I think I'll throw in a small stove for coffee, Jerry-rigged in.
Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.

I had a chance to do some more work on the boat.  Still ain't done, but it's coming along.

Here is the not-yet-assembled bridge.  I thought, hey, if I were piloting this thing, I'd want a lot of coffee.  So that's what the skipper gets.  A stove (a pipe comes out the wall) and a table with a pot, a mug, and a small bunker underneath for coal.  Along with a bag of coffee beans, of course, and a shovel for scooping the coal.

It's nearly done!  When I'm all finished I'll be making canvas covers for some of the railing, and changeable cargo bits to go on the decks.

Fine stuff, coffee pot is a nice touch and the whole boat is a masterpiece. Looking forward to the next progress step.
