For me it all started there. The guy with the armoured glove was my first D&D character, I think.
These original wardancers still look nice today.
The only decent elves reaching this level were the Grenadier wood-elves. And possibly the Ral Partha Sea Elves

I know what you mean. Jes Goodwin and Tom Meier are my two favorite elf sculptors.
