Deadwood review
« on: 20 September 2011, 01:43:39 PM »
Few could have missed this show back when it aired, or missed it on DVD. But if you did, Deadwood provides a fantastic setting, cast, acting, writing and characters. The entire show oozes realism, sometimes with over the top cursing, the dirty clothes, violence or general scheming.

In my opinion this show is the best HBO has ever made, and I'm being a huge Band of Brothers fan. It also serves as fantastic inspiration to Old West gaming if you are looking for an alternative to dusty towns out on the plains.

It is a wonderful show...also my favorite of HBOs products...I have only one fault with the show....it just kinda petered out...I NEED Closure!  At one time there was talk of a movie that would wrap up all the loose ends...but it never happened.

Ian McShane for PRESIDENT!

From what I learned the entire set was just too expensive to maintain, they actually built a major part of Deadwood with interior sets and each episode took about a longer to shoot than any regular tv show (which in the end is reflected in the quality). The creator of the series pretty much got an ultimatum where he was offered to do a last 4th season but it had to be fewer episodes than the previous 3, and he felt that he couldn't tell a season’s worth of material in just 6 or so episodes. Real shame it ended that way, it was talk about two 2hour movies that would bring closure to it all but it was all just half hearted talk and never happened  :?

Yes such a shame season 4 will not be made. I would settle for a book made from the script.

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT

The very first episode is as good as a film

It's good to Lovejoy swear

Wild Bill and Charlie Utter are show stealers

I've got Bullock's House i 28mm

The end was poor, despite a great villan (two with the Captain after fight with Dan he proves he's tough!)

CLASS all day long

If I was going to bed now I'd write forever!

Mr Wu kick's it old school

Yeah but the first one, with "who drew first? Hickcock or Bullock" is great!

And the one with the Bully Pinkerton's who turnout to be puss is good

And who needs a gun when you've got Swegen's knife?

There is Tales from the Black Hills, based on the series

I'd pay money to fund the fourth series and I don't like TV too much!
