Broad Arrow (crows foot) symbol use in the great war

Would I be right in assuming that the broad arrow (crows foot) & WD symbol was used in the 1st world war?

From what I've been able to find out it's been used since the 1600's.

Short answer = Yes; 

Used on weapons, uniforms, field gear.

W^D = British; C-Broad arrow = Canadian;  D-broad arrow = Australian;

Yes, and it's on nearly everything.  You'd be amazed at the stuff you find that has broad arrow stamps on it.  Even the smallest article.

This is true back as far as the Rev War...I've worked on artifacts like nails and canon balls from the Batle of Valcour Island (1776) that all have broad arrows on them.
