Well, it's been a while, as I've been mainly painting sci-fi, but the time has come to paint a bit more fantasy. I've got a crew for the corsair ship standing on my painting desk and a goblin warband ready to paint too. However, I found a piece of drain pipe just before Christmas, I saw it and thought that it'd make a perfect castle keep. So five months later and a few hours work it looks like this:

It's still WIP, with greenery and detail to be added, and the corsair crew have to be ready for the start of July for Åcon. So plenty to do yet!

Perfect!!! Very inspiring!

You could even bring it to our pirate game!

I'm trying to use the word "cool" a bit less often, but that is COOL! I love the entrance; the path leading up to the walkway/gang plank is an EXCELLENT touch. GREAT WORK!

The only critique/suggestion is that you might consider adding some foliage or tall grass to mask the seam where the tower joins the base.
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Thanks for the comments, I'm pretty pleased with the planking too, probably the only part that's close to finished. Amazing what you can do with coffee stirrers and brown ink.

It's still WIP, with greenery and detail to be added...

Works for me, sir!

Funny that you should post this as I 'claimed' a solid cardboard tube from work yesterday after seeing 'Bibbles new house with tower.

I think it does the same job as your drainpipe.
It may be harder to cut, though, as it is rock hard!

No, mine are Corsairs, but same difference. ;)

@ Mason - Great minds think alike! (And fools seldom differ) A hacksaw ought to see through Cardboard just as well as it saw through plastic.

@ Janner - Has Thorbjørn not mentioned Random Adventures yet? Honestly, he's not up to the job is he? ;) But yes, pirates are very definately involved of all varieties and plague him about it next time you see him or before as you please.

@Thorbjørn - think we might have another convert ↑ ;)

Excellent example of scratch building. I don't know about you, but I can't afford to buy terrain pieces and something like this would cost a small fortune to buy. I like the way you've got the texturing on the sides done and once you've added your greenery this will be a knock out piece :-* :-*

I can't afford terrain either, but this forum has inspired me to give it a good myself. I've learnt lots from people here and I feel my pieces a being to be decent enough. Still a way to top tier yet though!

I've spent a couple of hours glueing greenery to it, so now it's finished, but as we've just had a thunder storm, the lightings a bit dodgy, so pictures will have to wait until tomorrow.
