Next to the Crooked Dice version...........rubbery plastic which isn't good news   :-[ and the stumpy arm is...well, really stumpy. £2.50 for 16 is certainly good news though  :)

I've painted the Sontarans and they seem OK. I did spray prime and have varnished them too. I'll take a pic soon. Despite being weaponless they actually don't look too bad with washes and drybrushes.

Here's a pic of the DWA giveaway Sontarans painted up:

Waiter, my soup is giggling.

That's the best pics I've seen of those Sontarans. Very good paint job, Sir! 8) 8) 8) 8)

So, are you going to go with some Weeping Angels then? ;) ::)

Thank you kindly.

Yep I will be painting some of the angels soon.

Next week the DWA magazine is giving away 6 Sontarans, 6 Cybermen and.....5 Daleks.  At least it looks that way in the "Next Issue" section.

The weeping version does look pretty good, the attacking one looks a little wonky.  I'm thinking if I score some, I could use these to make the atrophied versions from The Time of Angels.  I was tempted to make some from scratch a while back because it seemed a shame to destroy a bunch of the lovely crooked dice figures to do it.

I can't help thinking "Stumpy arms" looks like a small child standing on a box in her mums dress .

 lol lol spot on!

Stumpy arms aside, they are still very good and cheap figures which can be used as scenery if nothing else.
I might cut the arms  and maybe even a head of the stumpy angel and use them as a damaged statue
give them that Venus De Milo look , lol

Thanks for starting this thread Colin!

Grabbed these earlier for scenery. Mounted up on plinths and 'damaged' in various ways, these will be great, cheap scenery for my Mordheim project.

Being slightly small and rubbery does not matter when you are only 'window dressing'!

Good spot!

Tried a couple of these with a greengrey base, fortress drybrush and a black wash.
Not bad for rubber!
15 mins work for a dozen....
Still waiting for my Blacktree cybermen though...(mumble,mutter,moan)

Nice. Those look great. I've only just managed to get a couple from my kid, so not anywhere near painted yet. Did you varnish them to make them a bit more rigid?
