Doctor Who Weeping Angels Plastic Figures
« on: September 28, 2011, 11:22:36 AM »
The next edition of Doctor Who Adventures has a large set of Weeping Angel figures. These are in two poses, moulded in grey ahrd plastic and are 38mm tall. There's 8 "weeping" and 8 attacking - the attacking seems to have a rather stumpy arm for some reason. They're a bit tall but will look okay I think, and not bad for £2.50 for 16 figures.

Next weeks issue has a dalek/sontaran/cybermen Monster pack, but the daleks are the only decent figures in this set.

All I need to do is convince my kid that she doesn't want the figures  o_o

Interesting to see how detailed they are, could impact on Crooked dice's sales of statuesque ladies with tears and screams in their eyes if they're any good.

They're actually quite good, apart from the dodgy reaching arm on the screaming angels. Height wize, they probably just need the base sanded down. I can't open them until our kid gives the okay and she's on a school trip until Friday, otherwise I'd post some pics.

We have a subscription so not sure when that issue actually hits the shops.

I also have to admit that our packet accidently fell open  ::) and the figures are actually a soft rubberish kind of material. Not sure how they'll handle a paint job.   :?

I've painted the Sontarans and they seem OK. I did spray prime and have varnished them too. I'll take a pic soon. Despite being weaponless they actually don't look too bad with washes and drybrushes.

just bought mine. Very nice figures , especially the eight that are covering their eyes ,the  eight thst are advancing have very and i do mean very stubby fore arms.
they are grey in colour and might only need a little dry brushing to make them look ok
will try and post a pic later
cheers

I really like the weeping figures, but that pick makes the screamers look ok though. It doesn't show how bad that stubby arm is.

the stubby arm angel looks as if it only has a fore arm on its outstretched arm. The arm from shoulder to finger tips is aprox 10mm . Its bent arm is 10mm too
The weeping angel's arms are 5mm from shoulder to elbow and 9mm from elbow to tips
hope this helps
ive included a pic i took earlier to see if this helps
