That's one hell of a project.  :-* Great paint jobs.

I must be old, but I really prefer the older GW sculpts.

It's not a question of age, mate. Citadel oldschool stuff is delicious. :) Way more charachterful sculpts than modern ones. That said, I like very much the actual skaven range, one of the best IMO. I like both the new and the OOP range for some army, and I like only the old version for some other. Main exemple being dwarfs. Marauder dwarfs were so cool and actual dwarfs are so flavourless...

This is great and outstanding. I really admire all the conversions you did and which worked pretty well (Rat Ogres). The colour sheme works very well.

But this great army also shows the big problem when trying to field a big Skaven army with miniatures from the 80s only. There are simply not enough different miniatures, 70 is not enough to field a big horde army when you are as lazy as I am, when it comes to converting models (the reason why I will only paitn each Skaven once and use them as a warband for Dungeon Crawls). The way you have overcome this problem reveals the love, skill and energy put into this magnificent project.

Well. Hidden beneath the pictures of one of the most beautiful skaven armies in the history of warhammer, was this suggestion:

Pil said: '...I would love a game against them with my undead!'

I can only imagine that there are enough admirers on this site to want that to come true so badly, that it must surely occur in the same fashion as the sun rising, or price of diesel going up. You could organise a poll to prove it, if you like.

And, as for the Vengeance of the Lichemaster...I am weak at the knees at this thought...

Gaj

Well, I just acquired the Vengeance Of The Lichemaster scenario (digitally) so I'll have a read along with Terror Of The Lichemaster and the Lichemaster supplement for WFRP, which should be a characterful read in itself. 8)
Let me hear the battle cry
Calling on the wind
Let me see the banners fly
Before the storm begins
