Quick drive by update: (two minutes work break).

High elf legs ordered from the states, worked out at 50p a pair so not too bad. Still need to finish the ogryn sevitor and scatter base the praetorian, the missile sevitor and forgeworld titan Techpriest. As he was on a resin cast base and all the others are mounted on DS bases, I cut away the side plastic on a DS base, just leaving a ring, popped it over, gs'd in place and now all have matching bases. Nice :D.

Will have the camera later today to if I get time I'll take some shots.

Im looking forward to seeing this.  I spent ~€400 on figures for an Adeptus Mechanicus project in September so it will be cool to see the angle that you take and what we end up with in common and what differs.

I have at least one of the Skullz Ad Mech figures that I can part with if you fancy trading.

Looking forward to seeing how the project goes :)

Skitarii (resin from Micro-art Studios).

Mantiple of Conquerer robots, (swopped out one arm for a war droid close combat arm from Pig Iron productions...works well).

Ogryn Gun Sevitor, (been posted on here a while back).

Missile Servitor & Praetorian from Micro-art Studios (also the CAT from the ew spacehulk boxed game and a FW titan techpriest in the background.

Im loving the old robots.  How are you planning to paint them?  Big old primary colours like the old days or something more grimdark?

I always wanted a few of those guys back in the day, but I spent my cash on old Contemptor and Furibundus dreads instead.

The ogryn (praetorian?) servitor is a hoot.  Should be fun to paint :)

Cheers,

Was playing alot of Quake on the 360 at the time hence the very Strogg influenced Ogryn Sevi-tank.

The torso is suspended on guitar strings drilled through on old metal rhino cupola/hatch recess.

Just waiting for my high elf legs now and thinking or ordering some limbs from Blightwheel before I start my skitarii, otherwise need to work out a way of combining the las guns with the arm, should be easy...have guitar strings, springs and things, will travel. ;)

Eggstactly! And that's where we're heading with this. Have some really interesting ideas to execute re: senior Techpriests, lots of mechadentrites, hooded skull faces and hunched machine beasts. Need to take a look through the Cryx range again as there are a few minis that have been used to good effect in Ad Mech armies.

Quiet week project wise, have a few Cryx odds and sods coming through to be offered to the machine god, also been scouring the net for Ad mech codices. Found a good one at the old darkfortress website, (very good Dark Angel resource I used to frequent a good few years ago). If anyone's interested the links here:

http://www.thedarkfortress.co.uk/tech_reports/codex_adeptusmechanicus.htm

Just waiting on my high elf legs and I can start my skitarii/tech guard. Also had an email from blightwheel as their automated postal charges tried to charge me £20 for three sets of resin limbs, suffice to say I've been offered an alternative much cheaper price that I'll take up.

Cheers all

The Commander

P.S. Just had another garage raid and found another servitor, the big techmarine with the servo-harness, a few more tech marines to convert to techpriests and a load of weapons, backpacks with servo-claws and other useful stuff. It's a good job I'm a horder as this project is having a minimum cash outlay as I've gto so much knocking around. (Used to raid the bits box at my local GW on a regualr basis and come back with kilos of old lead for nowt! Them's were the days! :D
