Motel Office/WIP
« on: October 22, 2011, 09:05:36 PM »
I have two sets of the O scale Plasticville motel, but the O scale version doesn’t come with an office so I modified some odd pieces that I had from an incomplete Plasticville apartment model (purchased at the swap meet for a dollar) and added some Evergreen plastic to create a motel office.  It’s still a work in progress.

Is your building the Radio station by Plasticville?
Looks like it will make a great office.

It is not the radio/TV station by Plasticville.  My motel office is made from pieces I had from the Plasticville apartment building along with plastic card by Evergreen.  A few months before I began making this motel office, I was at the swap meet and someone was selling some walls and doors from the Plasticville apartment building.  I bought those pieces for a dollar or two because I thought they might be useful in the future.  I decided I wanted a motel and I bought two of the O scale motel kits by Plasticville.  Unfortunately, the O scale Plasticville motel does not come with an office (their HO scale motel does)  Consequently, I decided to make my own motel office and the pieces from the Plasticville apartment I had purchased at the swap meet seemed a good place to start, so I cut them up and used them as the walls and door for my motel office.  The roof and  motel sign are made from Evergreen plastic.  Richard

Thanks for reply.
I have the same Motel from Plasticville. Have never liked the fact that there was no office.
Looks like you have solved that problem.
Look forward to seeing both Motel and office when it is finished.

Marine and Gun Bunny, thanks for the comments.  The Plasticville Radio/TV Station may be the best way to go for people who want an office for their Plasticville motel.  When I built this a little more than a year ago, I wasn't aware that model existed.  Nonetheless, I have no regrets.  I like the way this came out and it was cheap and fun to build.  As I said it's been on the shelf for awhile because I can't decided on a paint scheme for the motel.  Thanks for writing. Richard
