cheap source for 28mm civilians ?
« on: 30 October 2011, 03:17:14 PM »
Hi,

I wonder if anybody has good adress (in Europe if possible) for cheap 28mm civilians ? I need them for my future urban gameboard. Plastic or metal, no need for great details or whatever, price is the important thing (since I'll have to speed paint 20-30 of them).

Thanks !

Mega Minis spring to mind, cheap miniatures and they actually have reasonable international postage rates.
He that trades Liberty for Security will soon find that he has neither.

There are a couple of figures in the Crooked Dice range (Casual May & Daisy Taylor) that might fit your needs.

Also, Reaper Chronoscope have civilians but the scale varies. Try looking here for a UK distributor:

4£/figure is not what I'm looking for...More 10-15euros (10£)/20figures  lol

To be more specific, I need figures for "tokens", sort of speak.  I'll do speedpainting on them (painting them in a day). So no need for nice metal figures. The cheaper, the better.

But thanks ;)

Preiser 1/50 - 60 unpainted for 32euros, if I read this page right:

1/50 will be good ? I'll try to find some of them on model railroad websites (I don't need 60 figures, half or less should be enough)

Thanks  !

If it was cheaper, maybe. But I found metal figures, matching the style of my super heroes quite nicely, and almost of the same price :

I have to see how much will be the shipping cost. I'll see...I'm not in hurry. Maybe I'll simply mod the useless heroclix I have. That should be the cheapest solution. A friend of mine should send me a bunch of heroclix in a few weeks also, so...

thanks for your answers !

I'd go with the Heroclix figures. Many generic figures in the line, often cheap, and easy to repaint.

There have been some recent ones in clix lately that would work
From Brave & the Bold

Bruce Wayne

Clark Kent

Dianna Prince

From Web of Spider-Man

Researcher

Nurse

Peter Parker

Norman Osborn

Mary Jane

These were some from those two sets, but there are others in more recent sets that were "Alter Egos" or, figures of them before they transform. In the Hulk set coming out this Dec, they have Bruce Banner, Matt Murdock, Rick Jones and John Jameson.
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Pulp-City make actual civilian tokens.  They don't have a picture up but they are plastic pieces with a thin human cut out as the person.  I believe there were different types.  No detail, just the shape.

Reaper has civilians.

There are also some in the Chronoscope range that, while not listed as townsfolk, might be useful for you.

You can also find some useful guys in Heresy and Hasslefree's ranges

Crooked Dice also have some that will work.
