I've heard a rumour that dean is going to bring a certain game involving an invisible lorry that turns into a helicopter

LMAO

Count me in and I may well drive up, so anyone needing a lift Bristol/South Wales via M5/M6 to Glasgow had best PM me now - Rev Ford, I'm looking at you.  ;)

Thank you for your input!

We're now looking to tie down a date.

March
April- Salute?
May- GLAM
June

How about Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd of June? It's the 'May' weekend in Scotland. If people where wanting to stay a bit longer I could easily organise a day trip similar to Captain Blood. This would need to be on the Monday rather than the Thursday due to work commitments! Just a suggestion. If anyone has any better suggestions please let me know.

Let me know what you guys think.
Cheers
Andy

Care to suggest an alternative date?

Additionally what about breaking with tradition (oooooh err) and running saturday to Monday?

Nah, beer is the one exception to the deepfried rule. Everything else is game! In recent history we've had an 1500 calorie deepfried shish kebab and a battered and deepfried pizza.

I should also point out that like the majority of scots I've never had any of the 'weird' combinations like the mars bar or the pizza (or the kebab). In fact until very recently the only place that I knew that sold the offending mars bar was a wee chip shop in the tourist village of Aberfoyle... and the only people I've ever seen eating it... yup you got it, tourists!

Now with that stereotype killed, I'm going to miser my money away, don my kilt, get riotously drunk on whisky and go hunt a haggis (or if I'm lucky haggi)
Cheers

A few general thoughts derived from past experience of organising events (wargame and otherwise):

a) NO date is good for everyone;

b) many of the people who make the most fuss about not being able to attend will not turn up anyway after you have kindly changed the date to suit them;

c) so, subject to avoiding things likely to inconvenience everyone (eg days in 2012 when Glasgow is hosting Olympic events, thus clogging up roads, trains and hotels), ...

d) pick a date that suits you the organisers.  The rest of us will fall in as best we can.
Back from the dead, almost.
