Congratulations on the Ainsty commision, Andym! (James, too)  :D

A truly impressive build, and now it seems we can all have one too!

I will be building a ruined clocktower very soon for my Mordheim project using Pegasus parts for the tower itself, and was wondering if it would be worth making the ruined top section removable, so that I could plug a 'Big-Ben' into it when it is available
What size are the squares that the clock faces will be fixed to?
Trying to figure out if this would be viable.

Wait, do you have the machine for making etched brass stuff? that's great!

Is it possible to make custom pieces?

The etching is done by a company in Scotland, wish I did have the machine and yes one off pieces are possible

It's less of a machine than a process. If you, like me, have an ink printer and a small laminating machine you can do it at home, just like you can do circuit boards. It is not super easy, and getting the right chemicals requires a little thought and experience. I've been meaning to write a tutorial over at Workbench at some point.

Please do !
I've been looking in to that some years ago, but back then, consensus was that standard circuitboard etching procedure wasn't good enough for modelling purposes (I still remember the picures of bad etched pieces with rough edges and partialy dissolved small pieces  o_o)
Some claimed not enough movement of the fluid was the cause and that one needed a pump to spray the fluid onto the brass...

 ??? ::)

How would you do a St Paul's model? I think I'll try a section of wall next....

I decided to go against using brass-etching to build this. I've never used CAD before Andy, if you need me to do anything like that it'd have to be done in MS Paint!

I think the rest of it's nearly done as well. I've only got some upright pillars to finish and some filling to do that should hopefully help in casting! Then it's just the talented Mr Bibblys clock faces to go in place and voila!

...and the work in progress pillars. Just blu-tacked in place....

Cheers!

You're mad, and you know it  :o ;)

Is that a pencil you used for the pillar in the last picture?

I'm not mad, my mother has had me tested!! ::)

Yeah, that's a pencil. I couldn't think of anything else the right shape!

Their actually a pain in the arse to do. I don't know if I can get away doing one and getting copies made of it?

Cheers anyway guys!
