Lead Bones 15mm Hardsuit and Alien Pods
« on: November 11, 2011, 06:56:37 AM »
This time a little bit of an oddity, as we're dipping our toes into 15mm and small terrain bits.

15mm Hardsuit Squad: Four Poses $8.00 USD
Comparison figure by Rebel Minis.

Alien Pods A: Five Models $4.50 USD

Small Alien Pods A: Four Models $2.80 USD
Comparison figure by Rebel Minis.

Jibbery style oinkery which don't make no damn sense.

I really like the hardsuits - useful for any scifi genre, VSF included. Those may very well find a place in my collection - shame about the shipping cost to the UK though - $14.00???.

Agreed, stupid postal charges when Khurasan and others from the US ship for considerably less.

Anyway nice shrunk Bioshock daddies there. But more interested in the spec ops splintercell mini to the right, is this available and from who?

We generally ship packages international priority, but for smaller items we ship in padded envelopes first class and refund the remainder.

Sorry but as already stated other 15mm us companies manage to have almost half the shipping fee's quoted here and the items are supplied in a small usmail cardboard box.

Appreciate the pm, but I can see your explanation here fine cheers. As I say, not for me but nice all the same.

Sorry guys, postage is based on priority mail. We haven't thought about alternatives because most of the time the box has been required. We can't make money charging less than that for the teeny tiny overseas orders we usually get. (Does someone need to order a single bottle of Vallejo from the US to be sent to the Netherlands? It's happened.)

We'll see about changing the postage automation to allow for padded envelopes sent airmail when I get the chance to muck around with things again. Until then you can just send us an email with an order and we'll send you an estimate, or just go through the cart regularly and we'll refund you the difference.

You could've tried contacting us first before freaking out about the shipping you know. :)

@Commander Vyper- Yes, and if they are shipping priority they are losing money unless it's a big order. Some consider a negative bank balance good customer service, we find it bad business. :)

Thanks for the clarification!  Sorry if I "freaked out" but generally, if a website says "$12 shipping" that's what it means and you won't get a break from them for ordering just a few guys.  And some sites simply charge a lot for shipping, either just because they can (thankfully, rare) or presumably because they pick a lot of small orders and are trying to recoup the labour cost.  I recognize that customers like me who only paint a couple of units of anything are not anyone's big money-maker (or money-maker at all!)

It's hardly a 'freak out' so I wouldn't apologise to be far.

I base my view on what I've experienced, here's an example on a international posting rate and yes that's airmail, (I never stipulated priority mail).

Quote
Shipping

International orders (other than one sample pack) ship by normal air mail. My mailers are only a certain size, so if you place a large order it may come in several small installments. Postage is not affected by this. Shipping costs to all non-US destinations are based on the amount of the order and are as follows:

From $0.01 to $16.00 is $4.00
From $16.01 to $36.00 is $8.00
From $36.01 to $56.00 is $11.00
From $56.01 to $86.00 is $17.00
$86.01 and up is $26.00

Also whilst I 'get it' I won't be getting it if you know what I mean.

Anyway genuinely good luck and all.

Nice figs! They may find their way into my collection as well, when I get around to 15mm, although the postage is fairly steep, I can't say its a major biggy for me. Heck if you want good quality figs, a slightly expensive postage shouldn't be putting you of.

I've seen far worse, for really rubbish stuff. These however look good, so its a possibility of purchase I will keep in mind.

There are a lot of excellent 15mm companies out there now so well worth the plunge I'd say. Plenty of UK as well as US ones too offering high quality minis.
