Lead Bones Hardsuit - alternative retailers?
« on: June 16, 2012, 03:01:33 PM »
Hi guys,

I googled around and found this fantastic looking "Big daddy" / "Hardsuit" miniature in 28mm for VSF/Pulp adventures over at recreationalconflict.com

Threw myself on the order button but was shocked at the shipping rate, miniature goes for 10USD the shipping to Sweden was 17USD! I just can't justify ordering this miniature no matter how awesome it looks with a shipping rate like that.

Does anyone know if there are any alternative retailers selling this particular miniature?

/Alexander

Yea, I'm with you on this one - it bugs me when the shipping is nearly twice the cost of the product!

Try contacting Lead Bones.  they were kind enough to send me a single miniature (to the UK) by letter post at a lot less than the minimum packet price (though it was a regular human size not a biggy like this one).
Back from the dead, almost.

@Steve F,
Do you have their contact information?
I googled Lead Bones and only found a blog with emails to the recreational conflict guys (I PM'd one about the shipping issue yesterday with no response).

Anatoli, I may be causing confusion: "Lead Bones" is a figure range; it's "Recreational Conflict" that makes them.  I just used the e-mail address on their website home page: richard@recreationalconflict.com

Checking my e-mails, I find that what we sorted out was that I bought from the shop at the minimum postage through Paypal, and they refunded the difference (about $10) between that and actual postage.

Anatoli,

If it doesn't work out for you let me know. I was planning on getting a squad of these at the slightly reduced cost but probably won't use all of them for my evil plans. I could post one to you first class and I don't think it would be anywhere near $17

I bought one earlier this year, I did not pay anywhere near 17 $ in shipping, if I remember correctly I even got the diffrence between shipping on the website and the actual cost refunded.

Dear All,
We understand the postage problem, on really small orders, up to about 8 figures we can ship first class, as long as it fits in a small bubble wrap envelope, much more than that has to go in a box and international priority is the cheapest method.  The same small box FedEx costs about $40.  So, if we can ship to Europe in an envelope we do and refund the differance.

@Skrapwelder, I sorted out the shipping and ordering with Richard over at R.C. (also found a smashing looking General Sikorski model which I added to my order  :-* )

So thanks again for the offer. I'm sure you won't have a any problems selling any surplus hardsuits if you still have them though!
