Outer Veil 15mm wargaming
« on: November 27, 2011, 12:50:50 PM »
I am the author of Outer Veil, a whole new campaign setting for the Mongoose Traveller RPG. It is a near-Earth, near-future setting with relatively "hard" ("realistic") science with a feel comparable to that of Alien(s), Outland, Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars Trilogy and the earlier books in the timeline of Larry Niven's Known Space.

You may check it out here:

As the proud author of this work, I've decided to set a wargame campaign in this fluff as well. While no living sentient aliens have been found so far, pirates, terrorists, Secessionists, corporate mercs and hostile wildlife abound - so the FNH (Federated Nations of Humanity) Marine Corps, Justice Commission and Planetary Armies have their hands full.

The factions I have in mind are:
FNH Marine Corps - Rebel Minis EarthForce Marines
FNH Planetary Army (from a rich Core planet) - Khurasan Federal Army
FNH Justice Commission Agents - ???
Colonial Militia - Khurasan Sepuldevan Resistance
Secessionists - Rebel Minis Armed Gunmen and Rebel Minis Sahadeen
Colonists - GZG Armed and Unarmed Colonists, CMG ARC Fleet Recon
Bandits - 15mm.co.uk Cultists
Low-grade Mercs - 15mm.co.uk Rim Mercs and Post-Apocalyptic Survivors
High-Grade Mercs - CMG ARC Fleet, Eureka Sci-Fi Germans, Rebel Minis Titan Marines
Corporate Security - Rebel Minis Force-9
Pirates - GZG Ravagers, should also have a vacc suited version
Bezerk Robots - GZG and 15mm.co.uk robots
Cyborgs - 15mm.co.uk SHM range cyborgs
Xenomorphs - ??? I am looking for something more exotic than Khurasans Space Demons (but I'll settle with the Space Demons if other options won't be available)

The settings I have in mind are:
Earthlike planet (regular temperate/jungle terrain with some alien plants)
Marginal Planet (desert or tundra terrain)
Dustball (Mars terrain)
Rockball (Lunar terrain)
Space Station/Starship (interior terrain)

As for a ruleset, I'm considering either FAD4, USE ME or GRUNTZ.

I've used the Rebel Mini Earhforce models and they're a good choice for gaming.
