Even in 28mm "modern" is quite well supported these days IMO.

I absolutely agree that my WW II books has still a lot to cover, but who am I to argue with my customers...
 

As said before I will sooner or later run a Poll to see what should be done next.
The Soviet TM book is well under way and Gear Krieg is also set.
For Pacific war I have drafted US Marines and Japanese army plus late War Chinese.

Everything else depends on YOU.

Nice coincidence, last week I was geeting into the moot reading an Osprey book about the Chindits and General Wingate (I was really "impressed" by his various eccentricities) and  painting one Warlord mini.
A Pacific release will include the Chindits as well!

Since three month I am in this mental conflict, if I should start with japanese or chindits. It is horrible. To solve this mental problem I look for pictures of railways in Burma and japanese airfields.

With "victory decision (rules)" you are a great help, finding a "painting decision" you are not really a help

Strange, most often I work the same way.
I also noticed that many of my buddies are just not willing to play the evil ones...

It's like working out.  It's all fun but best to do the least fun first so you don't skip it when you're tired and feel like stopping.
