Not exactly received but rather rediscovered in my parents' garage.  lol

I've been rummaging through some of the old boxes in my parents' garage because 15-20 years ago I had a couple hero-quest type boardgames and one of them was called the "village of fear" and came with a load of part plastic and part cardboard buildings à la mordheim. I wasn't expecting much of them since these things tend to look bigger and cooler in our childhood memories, but when I found and opened the box, I was pleasantly surprised. They are a VERY good size and nicely detailed (not as crisp as the current warhammer buildings, but then these are almost 20 years old). I'm planning to replace the cardboard walls with some nice, 3-dimensional new ones and they should look very good when done. I especially like the windmill bits. They're all depicting buildings in bad state, with holes in the roof, but they'll do for the more neglected parts of town.

The buildings:

The bourgmeisters residence:

The inn:

The windmill:

The ruins. The chimney and the decorative entrance will be scavenged for other, new buildings.

The set also had small flasks and a few pairs of boots with wings (magic items) in the proper scale.

I swapped an old Dapol church for this . I have no idea who makes it . It seems a mix of sizes as the front door looked suitable for 28mm , while the rest of it looks correct for 20mm which is what I wanted it for. I modified the door but didn't take a photo before the mod. :-[ I have now undercoated it so can't wait to add some paint.

Two very nice rock outcroppings from Kingsford Miniatures (who don't seem to advertise their scenery on the website, just their very nice 28mm Samurai, which I resisted). The scenery seems to be a convention-only thing; good thing I made it to one day of the local three-day "big" gaming convention.

No photos, but both are good sized (about 6-10" across) and solidly made, with the rocks being large pieces of landscaping bark, nicely painted, drybrushed and flocked on an irregular MDF base. Nothing I couldn't make myself, but for 2 for $10, a steal!

These might actually be the first two pieces of scenery I've ever bought in a table-ready state - my only additional work was a few spots of the flocking mix I use on most bases and other scenery, to subtly blend the new purchases into my existing homegrown terrain.
