Battle of the Bulge - Project
« on: December 14, 2011, 08:18:22 PM »
Hi everybody,

This is my first post on the LAF.

I'm starting a project around the Ardennes '44. Here's my first unit.

Welcome aboard Thib-O.
What a great intro youve given us. But you do realise that you have made a rod for your own back and we now expect more of the same!! :D

Now you need some dogged and desperate American GIs to counter those young and fresh volk grenadiers.

Great stuff,

Woah, looking good! Very good indeed. Me and a friend are setting up a Ardennes force as well, and will propably work on it during the winter and spring, a project I am really looking forward to. I tested out some airbrushing yesterday, with whitewash over dunkelgelb, it turned out pretty nice actually. Ambush cammo and white wash mixed vehicles with a group of white/SS-Eichenlaubmuster do look great! :D

I would love to hear what colours you used for helmets and gear, and a few close ups would be most welcome as well.

By the way, welcome to the LAF and what a way to say hello! :D

I'm planning to paint my next squad in oak leaf pattern too. Imo it's much more difficult than the pea dot pattern.

I would love to hear what colours you used for helmets and gear, and a few close ups would be most welcome as well.

Helmets are dark gray, almost black. It's highlighted with a mix of black/bleached bone (very warm gray).
Mittens/gloves and scarf are in catachan green.
Belts and magazine pouches are in mars black.
The coulors for the pea dot camo are : commando kaki, bleached bone and dark brown.

Hope this helps :)

Great looking start to the collection - both figures and terrain. As others have said, I'm looking forward to seeing more.
