Yet another zombie...
« on: December 19, 2011, 05:47:30 PM »
Just finished another zombie for my Mad Scientist Lurker team. This time it's a zombie cut in half...Rob Half A Zombie. The skull doensn't look that great in this picture, but it looks a bit better in real (un)life.

That looks awesome! Who makes that figure? I'm pretty sure you have converted parts of it? I like the blood especially and the skin tone. What colors did you use?

Thanks a lot. It's a miniature from one of the zombie sets made by Studio Miniatures (http://www.studiominiatures.com/Shop/Zombies.html), no conversions needed. As for the colors I've used:

Skin:
- A basecoat of Tan (VGC).
- First highlight of Dwarf Skin (VGC).
- Second Highlight of Cadmiun Skin (VGC).
- A wash of Baal Red (GW).
- Again a highlight of Dwarf Skin.
- Final highlight of Cadmiun Skin.
- Another wash of Baal Red.

Wounds:
- Base color of Crimson Gore (GW, OOP).
- Highlight of Ruby Red (GW, OOP).
- A coat of Clear Red (Tamiya).
- Armour Wash in the deeper parts to create depth (GW, OOP...a kind of ink, so don't cover everything in it, just the folds, holes and other deeper parts).

Intestines:
- Golden Yellow (GW).
- Clear Red.

Old/ coagulated blood:
- A layer of Clear Red.
- When dry, a layer of Clear Red mixed with Armour Wash, just mix until you're happy with the color...I think the ratio was something like 1:4 (Armour Wash:Clear Red).

That's all.

Now that you mention it, he does kind of looks happy. Blij dat ik glij?
Well things could have been worse for him, he could have ended up like the zombie intestines from Peter Jackson's Braindead...maybe he's happy about that, or he sees a potential meal.
