Hello y'all!

A loooong time passed since my latest posts on this thread. I've opened a few months ago a new one, but it was about a game we are now creating for those ships (http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=57864)

well.. we're proceding. Slow, though. That is my light ship, i've also another few models, plus my opponent ones...

the model will have a resin hull, but all the details (weapons, chimneys..) will be directly done in FUD, 3d printed.

stay tuned, next will be in a few days!

(for admins: if you think it's double-posting, just let me know, i apologize in advance)

Double posting here, but... i've painted one ship, and another is primed already!

Here's next with the old medium one, already shown in the thread

The 3Ds were shown in the other thread, but i'll paste here the image as well. In the printed version there are some slight modifications from the old 3d shown below, though:

Some better pictures will come soon, i hope =)

Cheers
Jack

They look really nice!

But shouldnt' the hulls be painted to match the sky?

Well, why should a ship fly when it can dive in the sea? The floating line is essentially the same as in the usual ships.
There are some ships that can stay underwaters, while this ones can fly in the sky. Since a ship emits a HUGE cloud of black smoke, the "camo" point is not so essential. So they kept the red floating line of the standard fleets.

Besides, the grey-red contrast is very nice at the eyes!

I believe they are just back from distant service; colors match Martian sky duty.  lol

Delighted this is still coming along. I feared the epidemic of Real Life dogging many of us might have torpedoed you as well.

Strangely, I find the character of the smallest ship most endearing.

Oh, well done!

i've painted one ship, and ...

... one hand!  lol lol

Great painting job, Jack!

BTW, HISTORICALLY aeronefs (aeroneves?) hulls were painted red, to mantain a connection with the ships that once sailed in the - water - seas.  ;)

well, that is in the case of always-floating ships, that are quite extreme to me. Floating is much cheaper, allows you to save the fuel for the most relevant moments. And while in water, the floating line is reasonable!

I like the base idea. Could you use a six spoke gear so it would match the hex board you were using in the other thread? Not necessary, but its a litlle deatail that would look cool, i think.

Nice!  Decorative bases for flying ships remind me of the Teramyyd kickstarter boardgame (which I'm keen on painting the minis for - even though they tend to be more fantasy)

Thanks guys! The bases were there waiting to be made on my shelves since a while, i'm glad they are now appreciated.

Meanwhile, i made a MACRO lens for my camera using scratches, and it works pretty well.

And here is a better photo of my small ship. I've some bigger ones now on the workbench!
