Last nights game was a 700 point aside game of 'Escalation' using the new Germany '45 lists that Warwick has been working on. It was a hard encounter for the Germans up against a mass of US troops. It seemed for the first few turns that the Germans were going to get a drubbing, but a selection of poor dice, followed by the US electing to hunker down and their FAO getting fixated on one target, handed initiative to the Germans. Once the M36 Jacksons were dealt with, the Panthers steamrolled the rest of the Yankee armour and then the troops in the town were pounded.

By the end the Germans had grabbed three objectives and penned the Yanks in the town, picking off the few units that finally tried to attack. Has the US gone aggresive from the start, things would have been very different and the Germans would have had a very bad time of it...

Still a very enjoyable game, and a new favourite set of lists for a few up the club... Expect to see some Pershings soon...
