Suitable "Tiger" Moran models?
« on: 19 January 2012, 01:40:01 PM »
Hi all.

I am after getting a figure to use as Colonel Sebastian "Tiger" Moran to pad out my Victorian era stuff.

I am aware of the limited edition Foundry one, but since that is really hard to get hold of can anyone recommend a proxy? Ideally a well-dressed Victorian gent, with a rifle and a top hat (one of the short ones - what's the name for them?) I can do a bit of conversion, i.e. add a 'tache and make the rifle into one that works on compressed air, but anything more complex than that is out.

Been through the Foundry, West Wind, Artizan, Copplestone and Ironclad catalogues but nothing really grabs my eye - anything I may have missed?   ???

All suggestions gratefully recieved.  :)

JB

Oh, and a fat Victorian gent to use as Mycroft Holmes, can't find one of them that I like either.

Hmm, you have mentioned all the places I was going to suggest.

What about the Design 28s Reichenbach Falls pack?

I will in the meantime give it some further thought.

Oh, I'd forgotten about the GB ones, cheers Karl. That's a possibility.  :)

Nick, do you know who took over the Design 28 stuff? I remember them announcing it, but can't find it now.

Not sure what happened to the Deisgn 28s... bit of a mystery.

I have the Empress Civilians from the NZ range, a bit too early Victorian for Moran I think ( i use them for my Tex/Mex stuff circa 1830- 1840)

I reckon the Gripping Beast ones are spot on. Foundry do a hunting party set in their latest Victorian range ( not the greatest sculpts,) but there maybe one you migth have missed?

So is that Foundry Moran worth a few bob, then?

I`ve seen if go for £5 or more, I think it often depends on bidding wars for evil bay but generally you are looking for some limited editions at the £5 mark

Thanks for that, I've had a look through. Not sure about a Moran, but one or two that might work for Mycroft. I'll PM you if I get chance for a proper look later on.

I think its more that it's just a bit scarce is all. They actually kept it as a limited edition rather than mixing it in with other packs like they did with Holmes, Victoria and Moriarty etc.

Black Pyramid Gaming now have the Steam and Steel range. I don't think the Incident at Reichenbach Falls is on the website but if you pm them, they should be able to help.

Makes me all the more tingly I've got one, painted, in the case at the store.  :D

I really must find a venue for him to come out and play.   lol
