Does anyone sella VSF "Walker" suitable for IHMN?
« on: May 10, 2013, 06:06:34 PM »
Can't think of any myself.

I am getting an armoured steam car from Ironclad, but can't find any walkers.

Or a military design?

It depends what sort of walker you want (large or small, military or civilian).

Westwind will be releasing a steam exoskeleton in their next EOTD release later this year - I'll be using this one for a medium civilian walker

The old plastic 40k imperial guard walker would work.

I've used a couple of different walkers that I already had, just used the stats from the game.
So many projects..... so little time.......

Did you see the Ironclad walker?

I was thinking about converting a spare Ork Killa-Kan, and I also have an IG Sentinel as well.  These are on my endless list of conversion projects.... lol

Though the illustration of the 'Workers' Friend' is rather like a Victorian version of the lifting rig from Aliens, the illustration on the cover shows a Prussian war-walker rather more in the style of a Killa Kan.

My plan is to use the GW models I have lying around - a Sentinal walker for a lightly-armoured version and a Dreadnought for the heavy version. This will require either some rules fudging (giving the British access to the Prussian walker, or allowing weapon swaps, or playing a flamethrower that 'counts as' a machine gun, or all three), but the rules have only been out for a couple of weeks...

Thanks guys for all the replies.

I had considered a GW Sentinel, and I guess that would still be good for conversions to make it look more steam powered, need some clunky bits and cogs to put on it.

I did not know about the others. I guess I was thinking of something closer to a ripley exo skeleton with light weapons, don't want anything too powerful.

I will certainly consider all of these options, thanks guys.

Andy

Had a proper look I can see the conversion potential of both the killer cans and the open cockpit version of the sentinel from GW....  Might try my luck at these.

If you have some of those Robogear bits and some Kinder surprise eggs (nice boiler shape), sticking them together and adding plastic card strips + some rivets and exhaust pipes (drinking straws) should work well.
Not gotten very far (and I want these for Orks, not for VSF but it might give you an idea anyways):
