Old School Goblins Comparison For You
« on: February 04, 2012, 05:57:09 PM »
The idea for a goblins comparison pic came up in my D&D thread but am figuring this could use it's own topic. Scrounged around for goblins this morning to bring you:

Oh, and I still have a few more I need to dig out... will save them for part II someday. This is all that can comfortably line up in front of my camera anyway.

And the grid is metric, btw.

Thanks!  Great line up of goblins.  Very helpful to see how they scale together heightwise.

Appreciate you taking the time to put that together.
So many games, so little time.

Thanks all, glad this was a hit! Am planning a followup.

Mike Owen will have his Goblins being released very soon.

Cheers,

Helen

Am not familiar but if Mike Owen wants to send me one I'll include it in the next goblins lineup.

That goes for anyone, btw. I'm equal-opportunity. :D

Appreciate you taking the time to put that together.

Yeah, you bet!

Spooktalker, hope it's OK if I contribute some additional goblin comparison pics here.  I had done these a while back for the Battlesystem Yahoo group to show how well the Goblin Factory goblins compared to the 1979 T Meier Ral Partha goblin imps.  For mass battle wargaming, the R.P. goblin imps are definately my favorite goblin figures.

Cool, more goblins! Hadn't seen the Caverns Deep ones before. Goblins factory ones are pretty cool too and lots of poses. I have pics of their kobolds and halfings saved but looks like even after several years they still only have goblins up on their site. Are they still trading? I'm looking at their halflings atm and thinking if they are scaled like the goblins I'd be tempted.

... I looked around on the web and found those pics of kobolds and halflings ("half-men") here (from 2009):

Shame about the kobolds--cool up until the head, but no trace of dog features is a deal killer.
No such flaws with the halflings. Love their angry look and can see making a village of them. Just the thing to build an AD&D 1e encounter group.

I always thought Partha had some of the best.
I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it anymore and what is it seems weird and scary.
