Another Grymn Army begins.
« on: 05 February 2012, 08:11:21 PM »
A long time ago, I painted these:

...and all the tiny squares destroyed me :( . I didn't paint any more after that.

The trouble was that I had an army of miniatures sat in the cupboard ready for paint so I needed a simpler paint-scheme in order to get them painted. Time passed and The Tunnel Fighter army came and went and then...this happened:

...and the Grymn blog that I have had sitting idle began to start seeing some images and information on the subject:

Finally, the first section of the first platoon was finished:

...and that was the start of the latest army :) .

Only a hundred or so troops to go...and their transport...with some tanks and walkers thrown in for good measure. It should be an interesting trip  :D .

Only eight more troops to go for a full platoon:

Lots more information on the army here:

(just click on the tab for 'New Model Army' for all of the posts relating to the army and it's organisation).

Looks like it gives a nice consistent finish! Are those the War of the Ring bases? neat idea!

Yep :) they certainly make it easier to keep control of things when painting...especially seeing as the units are made up of blocks of 4 troops.

I'm not a fan of the Grymn at all (sorry!)

But, you do amazing things with them.  Love the camo work, and that new walker is awesom.

It is definitely a nice thing to happen when you get an unexpected gift through the post. It is certainly a lovely little kit and it has some nice clean surfaces for painting camo/freehand if you want to.

I think that the only thing I would change is to make the hinge a bit beefier so that I could put a pin through and have the hatch open and close...but everything else is great :).

I've been following this on your blog, you do great things with them.
Though Grymn seem popular, I have not really been into them.  So who do they fight against?
