Where do you Pulp?
« on: 16 February 2012, 01:08:21 PM »
Whilst planning for our next set of Pulp adventures we decided to travel abroad. After a couple of discussions between my and my brother we decided the heroes should set off to India for their next adventure.

Is set about trawling the interwebs for examples of games set in india for scenario ideas and terrain inspiration only to come up fairly short.

It does seem that most Pulp appears to revolve around the following places:

- American Cities
- South American Jungles
- Egypt

So I thought I'd ask the question, where have your heroes travelled to and what did your board look like?

So far my Brother and I have taken the heroes too:

Un-named jungle:
A 4 Part Scenario which started shipwrecked on a rocky coastline, moved inland to jungle swamps and craggy mountains and ended up inside an ancient underground tomb.

City Streets:
A more recent 3 part scenario whcih started with an attack at the professors office, followed by an investigation at the city library and ended in a race to an delapidated Mausoleum containing a lost Templar treasures.

This coming weekends adventure will all take place aroudn the docklands area of our city, it will involve the theft of ancient artifacts, chases through warehouses and putting a stop to shady deals. It is the precurser event to our trip to India which will be run sometime in April if all goes to plan.

So where do your heroes go?

Usually out in the country (Wisconsin, a Park, a Jungle) because a decent city costs more than I want to spend.

If you're not ranging all over the globe, it's not proper ADVENTURE!   8)

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Agreed! the photos are excellent! I tend to go for forests, remote houses, city outskirts and inside buildings.

I couldn't decide for our upcoming campaign, so it's all over the world. Or more specific:
- Rural parts of Seattle
- More rural parts of Seattle
- Seattle Harbour
- San Fransisco China Town
- Somewhere in China
- Tibet
- Shangri-La
- The deserts of Libya
- The ruins Dougga
- Sicily
- The Louvre
- Berlin

I think that covers it all. They might take a small detour to Russia if they follow that lead :)

We're doing 1930s China/Asia for our soon to get underway Pulp games.  There will be up to 3 GMs running games, so there is no official campaign or world set.  Probably recurring characters and such.  I will probably run mine as linked scenarios, with one results affecting what I do for the next game.  I'm thinking I will quickly duck my games down to SE Asia because of the all the cool locales (Angkor Wat, Pagan, etc.).

We have played:

New York 1920s
New York 1930s
China Station
Egypt
South America
South Africa
The Moon
Old West
Underwater
On an giant Airship
In a Mountain Base
Submarine
Japan
South China Sea
California
Florida
Kentucky (It Came From Beyond the Still)
Louisiana (ICFBTS)
Chicago 1920

I want to do something in Miami and something in Boardwalk Empire theme. I think that Atlantic City during prohibition would be a great place to pulp. I would also love to play in Germany or the Alps. The hunt for the abominable snowman ala Indiana Jones and crew versus cultists and Dr Katana would rock!
