Black Cat Bases: Prague Golem
« on: 25 February 2012, 04:01:47 AM »
Black Cat just released this fella.  Being the fan of folklore that I am, I quite like him. He just needs a cruel taskmaster to work for/rebel against.  I feel a Dr. Who adventure coming on.  :D

Wonder if the inspiration was "The Golem" by Gustav Meyrink.

Being the fan of folklore that you are you should know he in fact needs a pious rabbi.  ;)

The story of the golem is much older. The story of Rabbi Loew's golem dates back to the 16th century.

It was based on a 17th century woodcut which I saw in a book on printing.

I was aware of the Rabbi, but why limit yourself?  Whoever completes the ritual to animate him.
