Cool! I've heard a lot of good stuff about the rules for motorized combat using a "scrolling" battlefield. Post-apocalyptic car chases are one of those small, self-contained projects I'd like to do sometime. Alternatively cyberpunk jetbike races - I think I still have the WD with the rules for Eldar jetbike racing based on the Gorkamorka system.

Although not Gorkamorka, I use a scrolling road for my Mad Max tanker chase.
The tanker speed is used as the base speed and it stays "static" in the middle of the table. All the other vehicles move relative to it.
As its a linear chase there arent any problems with turning, as vehicles sideslip instead, the amount depending on speed and vehicle manouvreability.

The tanker is a Matchbox Superkings Peterbuilt truck with a K-17 trailer (from a car boot sale) that I removed to box trailer from and replaced with a tube.

The pick-up is a cheap toy from Toys'R'Us (Made in China by Smart Toys).

The buggy in the foreground is a Junkers buggy from Urban Mammoth/Void. (Now OOP?)

Apart from the bike all have been modified/repainted to some extent

The VOID buggies aren't OOP, they're sold by Scotia Grendel now (unless that's some even older one).

There looks to be quite a nice selection of post-apocalyptic vehicles out there, between the stuff made by Ramshackle Games, West Wind, GW (Orks, but easy to convert), Urban Mammoth/Scotia Grendel, Fenryll, Old Crow/Ainsty and others. Not to mention conversions.

Yes. I started using them because they were to hand and have never got around to replacing them.

The main disadvantage is that they are shiny and have a bit of a tendancy to try and curl up, no matter how flat you store them under a weight.

Their advantage being is light, compact and easy to store and transport. Its the shiny bit that bothers me most.

I don't mind shiny. Curly is what annoys me about them. I have two sets, both warped to one degree or another.

Glad to see someone took my advice and went with the whole Mrs. Doyle thing, too. Good work.
