Greetings

thank you all for the nice comments and for the votes I got.
I would like to thank my valiant opponent for crossing the brush with me. For me, being first-timer at the LPL, my first reaction as I saw my opponent and his entry was:  OMG

@Keith
I just love the uniformity of the sikhs. Great painting overall. This has been a cracking start and I am honoured having been your adversary in this first round. I wish you a fabulous LPL

The same to you too Sir!

Many thanks for 'crossing brushes' and being my first ever LPL match-up too.  :)

Beautiful work, both,
Arts, is that a set, or a collection of individuals? And did you make the background yourself, or is that commercially available?

So, Keith, as one of the admirers of the Khaki on those Sikhs, do you have some deceptively simple recipe or is it insanely difficult to paint? I find I keep coming back to that colour with my Old West stuff, and I'd love to know how you paint yours. Thanks in advance!

Greetings

@Parriah
The ladies have been a set from Ral Partha RP118 called "Female Victims (5)"

The background is selfmade from Hirstarts-Blocks. Painting on the background is a mix of acrylics from Lukascryl and Schmincke. The blue in the bath is one of the Foundry paints filled with Vallejo Still Water on top. The entrance on the left side is a piece of barbecue skewer and finally the curtain a piece of paper handkerchief soaked in water/white glue/Plaka 24 Vermilion.

In retrospect I'll say that the wall could be fine, but the bath "tub" pieces are definitely much too large for the minis. Perhaps pieces from Linka or from Bruce's "Small-brick" mould would have been better. But those moulds are still packed somewhere in a moving crate. Ah, shame on me.

@Hawkeye
The Khaki is Foundry Drab for a base, mixed with Vallejo chocolate brown (I think its called that) and vallejo white in different amounts. Puttees are Foundry 'Bleached Bone' varieties.

thank you all
Jo

artshiraz, if I may suggest... "The Bath" suffers mostly from a poorly focused camera. If you had been able to get in real tight and get a nice crisp shot, it would have made a great difference.

And there is one of the challenges the LPL presents... not only must you prepare a nicely painted team, but you also have to photograph it such that folks can appreciate your work.

 :)
