Lovely work once again

Got the next lot aalmost ready too!

Thanks Adam. I've almost finished two henchmen more  :)

That Skaven Wizard is ace.  :-*

His white fur almost glows.  :o

Many thanks Aggro :)
Probably the white fur glowing depends on too much light in taking pic lol
Actually those pics aren't so good IMO. I was pretty in a hurry yesterday night, with my lady waiting me for watching a movie so it was a rushed photograph session  ::) That model is better in flesh. The yellow in particular is far deeper than what you can see in the pic, with some darker shade and some highlight tending to white. Probably the main problem is simply too much light with my new lamps. I've to try with my phototent.

It's the tinges of blue that make it glow IMO

It could be, Astronomican Grey is pretty blueish. :) A nice basecoat colour to go white.

Heya Faber

What a fantastic set of Skaven, some of the best painted I have seen actually. I usually dont like them very much, but you have painted them so nicely that even I cant resist them.

Would you perhaps share what kind of colours you have used for skin and fur on your two first miniatures please? :)

I love these minis. Old Citadel are in my opinion far best than the new ones and, of course, full of character. About the paintjob, well, it's a really cool scheme. Congrats to the owner! Great Warband!

Many thanks for your kind words Sonny :)
I'm always happy to share painting process mate!
Here's the skin receipe (the same for both first and second mini):
0) I always use white primer.
1) a basecoat of GW Tallarn Flesh
2) highlight with a mix of Tallarn Flesh + Elf flesh (roughly 2:1 ratio)
3) shade with GW Ogryn Flesh Wash
4) highlight again as in stage 2) and more adding increasing amount of Elf Flesh
5) Highlight with pure Elf Flesh
About the grey fur (first model):
1) a basecoat of GW Codex Grey + VGC Black (let's say 3:2? but it's up to your taste)
2) a GW Badab Black wash
3) a drybrush with the basecoat mix
4) a softer drybrush with GW Codex Grey
5) a even softer drybrush with GW Astronomican Grey
About the black fur (second one):
1) a basecoat of GW Codex Grey + VGC Black (this time ratio was 1:3, just not black but a very dark grey)
2) a GW Badab Black wash
3) a drybrush with the basecoat mix
4) a softer drybrush with GW Codex Grey
5) a Badab Black wash again but thinned down

that's it. Hope it helps Sonny :)

These are my all time favorite Rat Guys...TERRIFIC brushwork & color choices. VERY WELL DONE again!

Many thanks Al :)

Many thanks mate! :) It was very funny to paint him. This model really remind me of my hobby initiation with Advanced Heroquest...

Eheh thanks! :) White primer rules!
Even if there are so many talented painters here on LAF (just to give some name: the Captain, StoneColdLead, Bugsda, the Prof ...and more) that seem to prefer black primer...hey, what an interesting argument! I'm going to open a topic about in Workbench!  ;)

Thanks #3! :) Actually I received a little criticism about horns...My painting menthor suggested they are too light and too similar to the fur/and yellow. I think he's right and I'm going to add a brown shade. I'll share the result :)
