How do you get them so smooth looking?

I was inspired by your painting, I do it for a living, and I know talent when I see it, so tried your style on the last two Para tank riders I have to do from Offensive for my King Tiger.

They are OK, but not a patch

tried to 5 o'clock shadow thing

How do you get them so smooth looking?

With my highlight layers I soften the edges of each layer by feathering the paint lightly. Also more gradual colour changes from one highlight to the next can help.

Seeing mine in large res made me try blending the transitions with acrylic thinners. I think it is better as you say than a stark contrast..

They are on the tank now drying so I will shot them later.

Thanks for the tip.
