Here's my method, I currently mostly use Foundry paints, but used the same method with more mixing before that:
I use the Foundry system BUT:
None of the fancy ethnic sets, I start on a base of darkest "Dark Flesh A", but don't use the other 2. Very little of this is left showing, any decent dark brown would do.
I then go for a mix of Dark Flesh Shade and Flesh Shade A.
Then Flesh Shade A.
Then a mix of Flesh Shade A and Flesh B.
Then Flesh B for.
Then a mix of Flesh B and Flesh Light C.
Then Flesh Light C for small highlight emphasis.
I find the overall effect of the Foundry system is good, but sometimes, as with flesh, the stages are too harsh for my liking.
For Native Americans, I use exactly the same, but stop short of Flesh C.I hope that's of some help, I'm quite happy with the result, take a look round our website and see what you think:
www.gallopingmajorwargames.comThere are loads of other methods, you'll notice quite a few different ones on the Customers' Gallery page of our site, and there are others equally valid scattered around on old Lead Adventure threads, here's a thread worth perusing:
