Monster Attack.... M.O.O.S.(E). Ministry of Occult Studies (England) UD:18/08
« Reply #3075 on: 18 August 2016, 11:42:31 AM »
I'm not surprised Theydon has got a guilty conscience given how his two agents always seem to bear the brunt of the opposition's ire!  :( Loving the campaign though, and looking forward to continuing it this week.  :D

Bert

And Theydon does it again!
Last night's pair of games  was 'Monster Attack' with both Team Theydon and Team Bullock each taking on a Deep One.

Bullock's team faced off against a standard profile beast who gave them a really hard time, not helped by a particularly useless round of shooting which was completely ineffectual, followed up by the creature taking the team out one man at a time.
They suffered a little in the post-game sequence with both Agents suffering long term injuries, one developing Poor Health and the second now afflicted with Agoraphobia, obviously feeling that staying indoors may be beneficial to his well being!
The character fared well, though, with a free, no PP, skill after rolling 66 on the injury table.
Lucky bastard!

Team Theydon were up against a more beefy specimen, his team being at 20BP.
Torn between standing back and attempting to fill the thing with lead and closing with it they decided that some gumption was the order of the day and valiantly charged the beast!
This did not go completely to plan as the first Agent, the Terataphobe, de le Zouche, to attempt this promptly crapped his pants at the sight of the monstrosity and fell to the ground trembling.
Agent Le Street, the Basket Case, then charged in and managed to land a Critical Hit on it, inflicting two wounds, before going down under its thunderous blows.
It then took down de le Zouche before Theydon could rush to his aid.
What followed can easily be described as a titanic struggle as the pair traded blows with Theydon eventually skewering the monster with his sword.

Post game was not so good for the team, though.
One of the Agents was Weakened, meaning that they both now carried the same injuries, being both Weakened with Chest Wounds.
Ouch.

They had reached five wins, however, and had received their first Promotion and therefore have re-equipped.

Oh, Theydon also picked up another Black Mark....things were definitely going to become more interesting from now on!
 :D

Pyrrhic or not, it's still a VICTORY! One more like that & it's of the the Old Agent's Retirement Home. WELL DONE!
I'd NEVER join a club that would have me as a member.  G.Marx

Re. Team Theydon's game - I must defend poor Ashby's honour, he of the terataphobia - it was actually Theydon, the character, who fluffed his resolve check and suffered the - ahem - foetal consequences. Agents Chester and Ashby bravely took on the deep one, even taking off a wound before suffering the beast's wrath and thus allowing Theydon time to gather his wits, clean off his trousers and find some courage :D. Although it was planned to sacrifice the two agents all along, Theydon did redeem himself with some deft swordwork and eventually dispatched the noissome foe 8).

Chester has been rewarded for his selfless efforts with a shiny new Tommy gun :). The team have recruited a dynamite expert in the form of ex-Welsh coal miner, Paul Talbot. Mason is kindly fashioning a model for him as we speak ;).

Oooops!

My bad.....

The lads did well and Chester (the nutter!) actually did do the beastie a mischief whilst Theydon finished him off, brown trousers and all.

As for the Miner: He should be finished soon and I will pop up a piccie when he is done.

Here he is the latest addition to the team, who the men from the Ministry encountered after the attack of the Deep One.

He has been pursued by the denizens of Innsmouth for some time and had been hiding out near the windmill where the team encountered the beast and Theydon has recruited him to the team.

He began life as Oberbootsmann Bernhard from Artizan.....

A simple bit of conversion work, with the addition of a rucksack to carry the dynamite, a bag containing his detonator and a mining helmet with lamp added he becomes Paul Talbot, Welsh demolition expert and former miner.

Now it is just up to Bert to paint him.....

Absolutely gorgeous mate! :o I love 'im ;)

As my team are taking a little break, having earned themselves a promotion, Zombie Boy will be getting a few games under his belt with me and Mason sharing lurker duties between us. This will give me time to paint up both Paul Talbot the ex-miner and demo expert (least he claims he is - we'll test that hypothesis when he starts lobbing the dynamite around!) as well as the Tommy gun-toting version of agent Le Street (Chester the molestor to his friends!). Paul and I will be hanging around waiting for Mark's team in a big top (we'll be lurking within tent... :D).

Yes Mr. Talbot, on your hand is the mark of the pentagram. When the Moon is full, you will turn into a Werewolf....oh bother, that's Larry Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.) & the Wizened Old Gypsy Woman (Maria Ouspenskaya)...never mind. The Demolition Man looks the part; i.e., nerves of steel, cool hat, & a satchel for his explosives AND a large bottle of liquid courage. UBERCOOL MINI!

Mason's certainly come up trumps with the mini, remains to be seen whether he can avoid blowing himself up :D. Tricky chap, TNT. Having a lycanthrope on the firm would be cool! If a tad unpredictable...

Now you can finish him off with the brush and he can join the team.

As for have a Lycanthrope in the team....be careful what you wish for!

In other news.....

Act Two of the Secret of Innsmouth Kickstarter campaign is almost ready to go 'live', and should do so within the next week.
Until I get my hands on the master castings and ink them, some pictures of the WIP greens will be added to this thread for record keeping purposes as I will eventually delete the KS thread when the campaign is over.

Here is the first, the Innsmouth Cops.....

Two Essex County Officers and their Sergeant, a female desk officer and a Detective who will double up nicely as an afflicted Gangster if you wish.

More to follow.....
